Local Arrangements

Our first local arrangements for safeguarding children in the London Borough of Sutton have now been published and are available to download below. The Local Safeguarding Children Partnership (LSCP) local arrangements  sets out how we will comply with the statutory requirements of Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018. It also has the priorities for promoting the welfare and safeguarding children over the next three years which include 'Early Help and Protection' and the implementation of the Contextual Safeguarding scale up project which is part of a national programme supported by the University of Bedfordshire.

The new safeguarding arrangements will be called Sutton Local Safeguarding Children Partnership (LSCP) and come into effect on 1 July 2019.

The South West London (SWL) Child Death Overview Panel arrangements have now been published and available to download below. The SWL CDOP will adhere to the statutory guidance: Child Death Statutory and Operational Guidance (England) 2018: practice guidance.

The guidance sets out the full process that follows the death of a child. It builds on the statutory requirements set out in Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018  and clarifies the roles of individual professionals and organisations across all sectors involved in the child death review, and how they should contribute to reviews. It will ensure that information from the child death review process is systematically captured in every case to enable learning to prevent future deaths.
